SOAR 2025

Summer Opportunity for Adult Readiness, this residential program offers pre-employment training, career exploration, a chance to experience post-secondary opportunities, and more. The curriculum also includes assessments, executive function/independent living, social skills, self-determination, financial literacy, and good health practices.  

  • Student Eligibility Requirements:

    Applicants must:

    Have a documented disability on the autism or Asperger’s spectrum and/or related developmental disability

    Be at least 18 years of age for SOAR 

    Be capable of meeting personal needs without assistance (dressing, showering, shaving, and toileting)

    Be able to self-administer any necessary medication

    Have no disruptive violent, bullying behaviors or violent tendencies

    No history of running or leaving school/home unsupervised

    Have the capability to participate in multiple 50 to 90-minute classes daily

    Navigate the campus independently with guidance from counselors, involves lots of walking

    Live in a group dorm setting and compromise with roommates

    Be interested in learning steps to employment, social skills, post-secondary education opportunities, and independent living

    Participation in all activities and classes is mandatory

    Eligibility with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is strongly recommended, this service is supported by VR

SOAR 2025 Registration Options

  • June 9-June 19 This session is for college-bound and career ready students

  • June 23 - July 3 This is a session for students needing to review job preparedness, these students should have a good background in pre-employment skills already

  • July 7 - July 17 This session is for students needing entry level pre-employment skills and career exploration

  • residential SOAR on the campus

  • confirmation of vocational rehabilitation authorization for the SOAR service

  • confirmation that I will self-pay for the service in advance of the start of the program
